My earliest memories of Tai Chi come from my time in Taiwan as a young child.  I remember watching in awe at people practicing in the park as I walked to school.  Every time I see Tai Chi performed, I am reminded of that time in my youth.

After six months in Taiwan, my family returned to the United States.  I went on to lead many active pursuits, although none in the martial arts.  I was an athlete in school and still enjoying running in road races and triathlons.

In 2009, I began practicing Tai Chi as a way to manage stress and anxiety.  My practice started with DVDs and online videos, perhaps like you. After many hours of practice in the privacy of my home, it became clear to me that I needed to train with an experienced instructor in order to grow.  I have since attended seminars with Master Yang Jun.  I am currently training under the instruction of Ruth Kizer.

I live in Grand Haven with my wife and two children.  During the day I keep a full time job in engineering.  Outside of work, I teach Tai Chi classes in Grand Haven and the surrounding communities.  I am a member of the Yang Family Tai Chi Association and hold the rank of Golden Eagle.
